With over half a million visitors every season, the markets are undoubtedly one of the Northern Territory’s most popular draws along with natural wonders such as Kakadu, Litchfield and Uluru, despite only being open half the year!
Wander amongst over 260 stalls and you’ll quickly discover the huge variety of items on offer from indigenous and bush art, sculpture, pottery and didgeridoos to clothing and handmade jewellery. You can also relax with a massage, have your palm read, or take in the colourful array of live music and performance art.
Don’t leave without sampling the food. Up to 60 stalls prepare delicious cuisine from across the globe. Local treats including ostrich and barramundi are always on the menu and the region is also known for its delicious tropical fruits.
This Darwin institution can be enjoyed to the spectacular backdrop of the setting sun.
The markets are open every Thursday from 5-10pm and every Sunday from 4-9pm throughout the Top End’s tropical winter from April to October, 2008.
